Sock eating monsters and rock-a-billy foxes in custom wind up hot rods - welcome to the mirky waters of Mister Mista. Limited edition T-shirts for young masters.

Created deep within the Tee forest, Series One consists of three tshirts and gives you a glimpse of its inhabitants:

Ferris the rock-a-billy fox who likes all cars to be customised and has a distinct interest in the ladies;
Ozzie the odd-sock creating creature with the eating habits of a goat;
And then there's Stan the abandoned Woodstock ted who became a roadie, and has a clear distaste for Amway and any other pyramid schemes.

Mister Mista is the brain child of creative couple Travis and Renee Price.
A perfect synergy with Renee's background in marketing and Travis's in illustration/design (www.travisprice.com.au).

"We've always talked about combining our backgrounds and creating a business together. Mister Mista just seemed a natural step with our young family and Travis's experience having already created designs for numerous clothing labels. Actually he has a weird attraction to tshirts. He collects clothes labels" says Renee.

In a prematurely maturing world Mister Mista is a throw-back to the days of old, meticulously illustrated, cheeky tees for the non-conservative boy. "With Mister Mista we wanted to create kooky characters for kids rather than resized adult graphics and it was just natural that each illustration has a back story. But we also wanted uniqueness, there's something nice about a limited edition tee, a collectors item I suppose." says Travis.

Referred to as "Rare-i-tees", Mister Mista Series One has been produced in a very limited run of prints with a view to produce more designs in the future rather than higher volumes of a single design.

Series one is available in sizes 2,4,6 and can be purchased online at www.mistermista.com for $39.95 or from one of their stockists.

About Travis:
Travis grew up in country Victoria where rocking roofs, pointing at strangers and getting kicked out of the pool for bombing were common place. It was during this time he developed an appetite for skateboarding, graffiti and clothing design which in turn spawned an odd obsession of collecting clothing swing tags.

After completing a degree and working in all mediums of the design/advertising industry (Web, Print, Animation), Travis was introduced to the whimsical world of commuting and public transport. With extra time to kill he soon gave in to the call of the wild and began sketching frantically in journals, in between eavesdropping on random commuter conversations.

Over the past 10 years Travis has created commissioned works for numerous clothing labels and design agencies working on many exciting and high profile projects. (Mambo, Sony,Fed Ex, Vodafone, Intel, Milo, Worlds Apart, Don't Tell Blaze)

This ever expanding illustration folio culminated in Travis speaking at the 2007 AGIdeas design conference. He also lectures sessionally at the University of Ballarat and is currently represented by the illustrious Jacky Winter Group.

Travis currently works from the historic country town of Ballarat surrounded by two barking dogs, kooky kids and a lovely wife. Oh and the swing tag collecting continues.

Likes: The Information Superhighway, fonts.
Dislikes: Other peoples feet.

About Renee:
Behind any good man is a good woman and behind any kookie family is a kookie loving mother. Renee grew up in an even smaller country town where she indulged in an active diet of netball, apples and reading books.
Any spare time was spent writing stories and requesting songs on the local radio station.

After 3 years at university completing a marketing degree and also meeting 'Mista Right', Renee ventured into the exciting world of marketing and event management working her way to a management position until recently taking the leap into motherhood.

While aspirations of fairies and princess' was quashed by the creation of a boys clothing label, her dream lives on with the recent arrival of a little girl (Amelie). Renee thrives on the challenge of organising anything (the laundry cupboard, her recipe collection, Mister Mista...) and combining this with her love for all things childlike, she believes Mister Mista may be an organising dream come true.

Likes: Sunshine and happiness, Raspberry kisses from Oscar and Amelie,
Dislikes: Dishes falling back into the sink after being washed, getting the cuffs of my pants wet when walking in the rain.

The conception of Mister Mista

How did it all start?

Mister Mista (MM) started in 2004 as a few quirky little ideas in one of Travis's many drawing journals. A few years on, with the arrival of their son Oscar they were introduced to the exciting world of kids fashion.

Over the years Travis had been creating work for new emerging clothing labels and found it really inspiring to see people stepping out of their comfort zone chasing a dream. A sleepless night in 2008, a chat with Renee and it was official, Mister Mista was born.

We had an idea of what MM was about but we wanted to make sure there was room or even a demand for it in the market. If there was ever an ideology for MM it would be
"kids were made for jumping on furniture, not to compliment it"
It was also important to be relevant to kids, not just create adult graphics and humor and put them on kids clothes.

Deciding on the designs
Six designs were finalised and sent out to friends and family covering all demographics; Nana's, Aunties, Uncles, Mums, Dads & of course - kids.
"It's easy for people to be too close to their product or idea and it doesn't always equate to sales so we were open to anything." says Renee
The feedback gave a clear insight and finalised MM's first three designs.

"There was a few little interesting facts we found. There was one design that I really liked, but the general consensus was it's too busy, although it rated really high with anyone who had an art, illustration or design background. It may yet live to fight another day." says Travis

Mister Mista has been well received by kids and rumor has it, the current record for a Mister Mista tee being worn is three days straight.

Where to now?
Next will be the winter series, which again will include tee's but we're planning to branch out to keep the boys a bit warmer.
It's easy to have plans of grandeur, but experience tells us to just keep building on each series which will hopefully allow us to branch out into other areas. We're also hoping to get the opportunity to collaborate on a few products. No doubt there'll be a learning curve and we'll look back and laugh but just as long as we're still enjoying the work, that is the most important thing.

Our dream is to see some well worn tee's in the future that have lived a full life with many adventures.
No different to the faded Guns 'n roses tee's of the 90's.

Series One:

Title: Ferris
For all those who like fast music, even faster cars and sometimes enjoy the company of the ladies, Ferris is for you.

About Ferris: Ferris is the Tee Forrest's resident mechanic/ladies man. The problem is the cars are never the same after Ferris has worked on them. He's in Stan's band and it's hard to say if he enjoys being in the band or does it to attract the ladies.

Likes: The ladies
Dislikes: Stock standard cars.
Quote: I'm just gonna lower it a bit and tinker with the revs!

Title: Ozzie
The Ozzie Tee is a must for any kooky little monster you're associated with.

About Ozzie: Ozzie is a mischievous creature with the eating habits of a goat. He once ate a donkey and cart but later burped out the live donkey.
A distant relative to the troll from 'the three billy goats gruff' Ozzie has been eating socks since the turn of the century. If you have an odd sock there’s every chance Ozzie ate the other one. Preferably unwashed.

Likes: Unrestricted walks on the beach & burping the alphabet.
Dislikes: Angry village folk & girly girls, tom boys are OK.
Quote: Sock it to me!

Title: Stan
Play hard or play at home. Stan's for all those a little rough around the edges.

About Stan: Stan was abandoned at the 1969 woodstock festival. He soon found work as a roadie. Over the past 40 years he has been a roadie for such bands as "Mum's & Roses" and "the Six Pistols"
He now resides in the Tee forest and has released numerous albums with his band "Stan and deliver".

Likes: Drum solo's
Dislikes: Amway and any other Pyramid schemes.
Quote: Turn down the bass!
